PAX: Mini Me, Kenny G., Dr. Evil, Coat Factory (QIC)

WARM-UPS:
Abe Vigodas x 15(IC)
Side Straddle Hops x 20 (IC)
Frankenstein Walk: about 2/3 across parking lot and back
High knees across parking lot and butt kickers back

THANG 1: We ran or rucked up Stevens Street to the trail head of the Wheeler Park Trail, then through the woods and on to the Fox River trail for an out and back route.  Dr. Evil and Coat Factory made a last minute decision to cross the river at Prairie St. to come back down on the east side of the river. It ended up being about 1/2 mile longer than Coat Factory said it would be, luckily Dr. Evil is a good sport. Kenny G. and Mini Me did loops around The Arrowhead.

COT: Kenny G’s family will be growing by one today, and the world will never be the same.  Let’s all make efforts each day to change this world for the better. Just like when you go camping, you are not going to completely change the campsite, but should aim to leave it a little better than you found it. Let’s be sure to do what we can to pass along a better campsite to our children.

PRAYER: Lord thank you for giving us this beautiful morning to come together to exercise and enjoy fellowship at the same time.  Please be with Kenny G and Mandy as they prepare for the arrival of baby #2, and also provide comfort to Mandy and her family as they mourn the loss of her aunt. We thank you for the healing you have brought to Lindbergh’s father and ask that you be with him and his family as they move his father to Geneva. Lord be with us and strengthen us as we go about our day today!

MOLESKIN:
1: Kenny G showed up for run club a mere 3 hours before going to the hospital for baby #2! Best of luck to Kenny G and Mandy today!
2: My COT was an interesting journey from new babies to cliche campsite references, the best response would have been: “At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
But I think at least the underlying point was good.
3: The St. Charles geese are even meaner than the Geneva geese
4: “Measure twice, cut once” should also apply to planning out Run Club routes.
