PAX PRESENT: Coat Factory (QIC), Kenny G., Mini Me
Thang 1: On this day, we were all turtley enough for the turtle club, turtle, turtle, turtle. We did a 2.2 mile ruck from Arrowhead, across the river to Island Park, through the goose gauntlet, back across the train bridge, up the nice South Street hill, then through downtown Geneva back to Arrowhead.
Sorry Mary, the ruck took the entire 45 minutes, we still love ya! Extra Mary next time I Q.
COT:
About a year ago, I was really in a rut. I had a great family, good (but stressful) job, nice house, 2 dogs, yadda yadda. I had all the things I had worked for, the whole American Dream thing, but I was less happy than ever. It’s funny (or sad, or both) that literally the first paragraph of the first chapter of the Born to Lead book describes exactly that feeling, it’s like I could have written it myself. I was definitely a SadClown. Clearly I am not alone. Through lots of prayer and redefining my priorities and more intentionally focusing on the good parts of life, I have become much happier, and now F3 is really making big changes in how I feel and how I look at my life. I no longer wake up M-F dreading the day. It’s easier for me to wake up at 4:45 to come to an F3 workout than it was to wake up at 6:15 to get ready for work. Don’t get me wrong, I still struggle with Sad Clown Syndrome, but I’m getting much better. We owe it to other men we know to at least let them know this is more than just a workout. I am challenging myself to this week to up the EH on the guys I’ve been trying to get here.
Prayer: Lord thank you for giving us this beautiful morning to come together to work out our bodies. Please help heal the various injuries we are dealing with and make our bodies stronger. Help us to better prioritize the various parts of our lives, and to seek joy in You, rather than in earthly things that are fleeting.
Moleskin: All I will say is Kenny G – 1, geese – 0
